OKLAHOMA CITY -- Supporters of City Rescue Mission came together to help stop homelessness in Oklahoma City.
The 12th annual Mission of Hope Banquet "Stepping into the Future" was held September 1. During the banquet, Mission of Hope brought in receipts of more than $312,000.
Guests also enjoyed dinner and entertainment during the event, which kicked off the Mission of Hope annual appeal to raise $2,241,859 – one half of the annual operating budget – providing solution-based ministry to homeless men, women and children.
Through City Rescue Mission, clients can graduate from the Bridge to Life program. The Mission is able to change lives, thanks to the support of generous donors, and in turn changing our community. Those in attendance saw first-hand how clients are "Stepping into the Future" with success and hope.
"Hopelessness is a terrible thing for any human being to have to experience," said Tom Jones, President of the Mission. "We believe that there is always hope. At City Rescue Mission we not only offer hope to our clients, but a solution to their homelessness. We want them to build a firm foundation for their future so that they can have a positive impact on their community."
