TULSA, Oklahoma -- The first week of high school football is in the books. There were some thrillers, but mostly there were a bunch of blowouts. The second week of the season offers some titanic showdowns inside state lines and down in Texas.

Here is a look at the Top 5 matchups from around the state this week:

5. Bartlesville (1-0) at East Central (1-0)

The last time the Cardinals made the one hour drive to Bartlesville it ended in heartbreak for the Bruins. East Central prevailed with a game-winning field goal in the final seconds to hand Bartlesville its first loss of the season. The Bruins will try to avenge that 24-23 loss nearly one year to the day. East Central is considered a top team in 5A. Both teams are coming off wins, but East Central will be without one of its best players. Two-way star Stanvon Taylor broke his ankle in the season opener. He returned an interception for a touchdown in Week 1.

4. Bishop McGuinness (1-0) at Bishop Kelley (1-0)

This is the biggest game of the year according to some Comets players. These bitter rivals will battle for ‘The Sheleighly', a traveling trophy that goes to the winner. The Comets lost to the Irish on the road last season. This year they host their rivals with eyes on the coveted sheleighly. Bishop Kelley enters this week off a 41-13 win over Enid. Bishop McGuinness blanked Shawnee JV, 42-0 last week.

3. Booker T. Washington (0-1) at Abilene, TX (1-1)

Class 5A's best team from a year ago will test itself with some out-of-town talent in Week 2. The Hornets visit Abilene High School in Texas on Saturday. Abilene came in seventh in a recent MaxPreps ranking of the Top 10 Texas high school programs over the past five seasons and is 47-7 over that span. The Hornets have won two of the past three state titles here at home, but lost their opener at home to Carl Albert, 24-3. The Eagles scored 77 points in their season opening win, but lost last weekend, 34-17.

2. Broken Arrow (1-0) at Odessa Permian, TX (1-1)

The Friday Night Lights will shine down on the Broken Arrow Tigers this week when one of Oklahoma's top 6A teams visits the state of Texas. The entire country knows the Permian Panthers from their popular movie, Friday Night Lights. Permian has won six state championships. This game is huge for the Tigers, who stomped the Owasso Rams last week, 48-20. Permian has scored 86 points in two games this season. They've also allowed 84. The game will be played Saturday at 1 p.m.

1. Union (1-0) at Jenks (1-0)

The Backyard Bowl is an annual tradition. The top two teams in 6A have been Jenks and Union for nearly two decades. This regular season meeting is so huge the game has to be played on the University of Tulsa campus to accommodate the larger-than-life crowds. One of these two schools has won the championship every year since 1996. Union owns the last three gold balls, and avenged the 26-point Backyard Bowl loss in 2010 with a dramatic 50-47 come-from-behind win over the Trojans in the 6A title game.

Just missed the cut:

Holland Hall Dutch (0-2) at Victory Christian Conquerors (1-0)

Glenpool Warriors (0-1) at Cascia Hall Commandos (1-0)

Seneca, MO Indians (1-0) at Berryhill Chiefs (1-0)
