EDMOND, Oklahoma – Edmond Public Schools students will attend class for 20 extra minutes beginning Wednesday, September 7.

Classes will begin 10 minutes earlier and end 10 minutes later. The Edmond Association of Classroom Teachers voted in August to lengthen the school day. The 100 extra minutes each week add nine days of classroom learning to the school year.

The district says the extra time provides a cushion in case of snow days. Two snow days are already built into the calendar. If no snow days are used, the last day of school will be Wednesday, May 23. If one day is used, school will end on Thursday, May 24. If two or more snow days are required, the last day of school will be Friday, May 25.
