STILLWATER, Oklahoma – Oklahoma State wide receiver Michael Harrison has been declared eligible and he is clear to play in the Cowboys' opener on Saturday against Louisiana, the school announced Friday.

The school and coach Mike Gundy had announced earlier in the week that Harrison and safety Johnny Thomas both would not play in the opener due to eligibility issues.

Thomas still has unresolved eligibility issues and will not play in the Cowboys' opener, coach Mike Gundy announced on Tuesday.

"We have no way of commenting further until the issues are resolved," Gundy said on Tuesday. "As soon as we get any information, we will share it."

OSU officials have also declined further comment until the outstanding issues are resolved.

The timetable for Thomas' return is unclear.

Harrison caught 14 passes for 135 yards and three touchdowns last season for the Cowboys.

Thomas was the Cowboys' fourth-leading tackler last season with 63. He also had three interceptions, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

The Cowboys open play on Saturday at home against Louisiana. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
