Tempo Not An Issue For OSU Offense

TULSA, Oklahoma – Every year is relatively the same story for the OSU offense.

Try to outscore opponents in shootout games, lead the nation in most offensive categories and break a couple of records along the way.

And most of the time, that mission is accomplished.

The Cowboys even made the transition from Larry Fedora to eventual offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen, who is now at West Virginia.

Oklahoma State must make another similar transition this year, but has all the tools to do so successfully.

When asked about his offense's tempo, new offensive coordinator Todd Monken said the speed of the game will take care of itself.

"I don't have any idea what tempo," Monken said. "The bottom line is, get your guys lined up, run the offense, execute the offense and you'll be fine."

The Cowboys held their first weekly media session on Thursday at Boone-Pickens Stadium and had plenty to say about the offense for this year. OSU starts the season at home against Louisiana on Sept. 3.
