TULSA, Oklahoma -- A shooting played a role in a collision that killed two men overnight in North Tulsa. Police say a car speeding through a red light near the shooting scene struck the men's car as they drove through the intersection of 36th Street North and North Cincinnati Avenue.

Tulsa police had several reports of shots fired in the area of 4600 N. Cincinnati Avenue at about 12:15 a.m. Sunday. Shortly afterwards, they were called to the scene of the wreck.

"Officers responded to the area and found a very serious three-car accident," said Sergeant Brian Hill of the Tulsa Police Department.

A 33-year-old woman driving a white Chevy Impala southbound on Cincinnati went through the intersection at 36th Street North on a red light, witnesses told police. She struck a Nissan Altima that was eastbound on 36th, pushing the car into a Ford Mustang that was stopped for the red light in the northbound lane of Cincinnati.

There were two men in the Altima, both 32 years old, Hill said. Police don't believe the men were involved in any way with the shooting.

"Unfortunately, they were pronounced dead shortly thereafter once medical personnel arrived," Hill said.

The man and woman in the Mustang were uninjured. The woman in the Chevy Impala was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Police say the woman who caused the wreck was driving at a high rate of speed away from the area of the shooting. Police say the woman's car does not match the description of the cars involved in the shooting.

There were no immediately visible signs of guns in any of the cars, Hill said.

Officers found over 30 spent rounds at the shooting scene.

The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of family.
