OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Redhawks topped the Reno Aces Wednesday 2-1 thanks to a productive night on the mound and at the plate by Lucas Harrell.

The right-hander from Springfield, Missouri, carried a no-hitter through five and one-thirds innings and only allowed two hits on the night while he scored OKC's second run with a single in the second inning to help the Redhawks to the victory.

Oklahoma City got on the board first in the second inning. Anderson Hernandez drew a walk and Oswaldo Navarro singled before Jose Vallejo singled to score Hernandez for a 1-0 score. Next Harrell knocked a line drive up the left field line that barely stayed fair and scored Navarro for the 2-0 lead.

Harrell's no-hitter ended in the sixth inning when Evan Frey knocked a line-drive triple to right-centerfield just out of the reach of diving right fielder Drew Locke. Frey was next called out at home on a ground ball to first from Mark Hallberg for the second out of the inning. After a Ryan Langerhans single, Andy Tracy flied out to end the best threat against Harrell.

Reno scored in the eighth inning, starting a rally against reliever Mickey Storey. Angel Berroa doubled and moved to third on a Lucas May fly out. Against the next reliever Xavier Cedeno, Evan Frey singled in Berroa for a 2-1 score. Cedeno next induced a double play to end the eighth inning.

The win is the second straight for OKC who is now 57-68 on the season.

Harrell (4-1) dealt 104 pitches with 63 strikes while Gaby Hernandez (4-6) allowed two runs and five hits over six innings with five walks and five strikeouts in a losing decision. Juan Abreu (2) walked two (one intentional) with two out in the ninth inning but collected the save.

The two teams will suit up for game three of the series at 7:05 p.m. Thursday.
