OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Redhawks put together a late game rally against Reno Tuesday scoring four runs in the final two innings to give them the one run advantage over the Aces.

Reno took a first inning 1-0 lead, but OKC got on the board in the third inning when Jose Vallejo led off with a double and later scored off an Anderson Hernandez single to make it 1-1. But that would be the only run scored for the Redhawks until the eighth.

Reno got a boost in the top of the fifth when Evan Frey and Marcus Hallberg singled before a Ryan Langerhans' single scored Frey for a 2-1 Aces lead. Later in the inning Lucas May hit a two-run single for a 4-1 Reno advantage.

The final two innings saw OKC rally against Reno's bullpen. Hernandez got it all started in the eighth inning with a leadoff single. He later scored when Robinson Cancel doubled to cut the lead to 4-2. Cancel moved to third on a ground out and then scored off a wild pitch to make it 4-3.

In the final inning Oswaldo Navarro singled, moved to second on a wild pitch and moved to third on a ground out for the second out of the inning. The 1-2 pitch to Luis Durango went wild, allowing Navarro time to score for a 4-4 tie ballgame.

Next, Durango drew a walk, stole second base and then scored after when Cancel drove in another run off a single to centerfield to give the Redhawks the 5-4 win.

Oklahoma City is now 56-68 on the year and Fernando Abad (2-3) recorded the final two outs of the top of the ninth inning for a winning decision. Ryan Cook (0-1) blew the save for Reno and took a losing decision with two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Game two of the series in downtown OKC is set for Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
