OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City RedHawks received timely hitting from up and down their lineup in a 9-2 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox Friday.

The two teams both finished the game with 11 hits, but the RedHawks (54-66) made theirs count. They got off to a hot start, scoring runs in each of the game's first three innings. The Sky Sox (54-66) recorded one run of their own in the third to make the score 4-1.

Oklahoma City struck for three more runs in the fifth and another two in the sixth to take a commanding 9-1 lead. At that point the RedHawks were winning big despite having only one more hit. The Sky Sox ended the scoring with another run in the seventh inning, but the game was never close.

Eight of OKC's nine starters recorded hits, and Brett Wallace led the way with a 3-for-3 night that included a walk, two RBIs and a run scored.

Lucas Harrell (3-1) earned a win after giving up two runs in seven innings, despite allowing all 11 hits. He pitched out of jams all night, while his two relievers combined to pitch two perfect innings and strike out four of Colorado Springs' final six batters.

Sky Sox starter Billy Buckner (4-7) lasted five innings, gave up seven runs on seven hits and came away with a loss.

Friday's victory was Oklahoma City's fifth in its last six games and began an eight-game home stand for the RedHawks. They will continue their series against the Sky Sox at 7:05 p.m. Saturday.
