'Lost' Tulsa Motorist Turns Out To Be Carjacker

TULSA, Oklahoma -- A group of young people trying to help a "lost" motorist were carjacked instead overnight Sunday in Tulsa. The carjacking took place in the 800 block of North Birmingham at about 2 a.m., according to Tulsa Police.

Five people in a silver Jeep stopped in front of a residence to pick up a friend, according to Tulsa Police Corporal Greg Smith. A dark blue Chevy Suburban pulled up behind the jeep. A man got out of the Chevy and asked the group for directions.

The victims got out of the jeep to talk to the man because the vehicles' windows wouldn't roll down. At that point, the "lost" motorist took out a gun and demanded the keys to the jeep.

He drove off in the jeep with the Suburban following behind.
