Your 2 Cents: McDonald's Apple Slices?

Posted: Updated:

OKLAHOMA CITY -- McDonalds will be reducing by half the fries in their Happy Meals and adding apples. That's good.

And I'm trying to do my part to get healthier by leaving a few fries in the bag when I'm done, after supersizing of course.

That prompted Heidi from Amber to write: "I love your idea about cutting back on the McDonald's fries!!  I will supersize mine next time too!"

Mike in Kingfisher: "Kudos to McDonalds for offering a healthier menu."

But Justin in Perkins writes: "I'm disappointed in McDonald's for caving into pressure."

Diana writes: "I feed my children healthy homemade food every day. When we go to McDonald's it's for a 'treat'. We go there to get burgers and fries NOT apples."

Dr. Curt in Perkins: "...a McDonald's, in our community had opened this very morning. After you said MCDONALD FRENCH FRIES last night I tuned out as I was looking forward to the JUMBO French I LOVE."

Ann in Del City: "Big Brother is doing more than watching now, he's covertly dictating our eating habits. It's a sad deal, and supersize mine too."

Ann, Del City

"Big Brother is doing more than watching now, he's covertly dictating our eating habits. It's a sad deal, and supersize mine too."

Finally, Tamera writes: "Face it, something is going to kill you. McDonald's French Fries are an occasional treat that is almost worth the high blood pressure and thickening of the waistline."
