WYNNEWOOD, Oklahoma -- The GW Exotic Animal Park near Wynnewood says its water bills are paid up through August thanks to the generosity of people in and outside of Oklahoma.

News 9 reported last week on how the heat had reduced the number of visitors to the park. As a result, revenue was down and the park couldn't pay its water bill for July.

That meant the moats and ponds that kept the big cats cool were drying up. Since the story aired, the public has responded with donations to pay off the July water bill. The ponds, moats, and misters are at full strength again. Plus, a truck stop in Louisiana has paid off the entire water bill for August.

The park, however, is still struggling to pay its electricity bill.

On August 13, the GW Exotic Animal Park is planning a fundraiser at the Omniplex in Oklahoma City.
