OKLAHOMA CITY -- Hundreds of backpacks are filled and ready to help grandparents who are raising children.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office, TRIAD, Sunbeam Family Services, and the Oklahoma Recycling Association filled 425 backpacks with school supplies and will be given to students who are being raised by their grandparents. Oklahoma has a large number of grandparent families.

The backpacks will be handed out to 425 students, which will help relieve some of the financial burden on some of these grandparent families who will benefit from our program.

If you would like more information on making a donation or helping out contact Corporal Kelli Bruemmer at (405) 713-1950.
