WACO, Texas -- Oklahoma State booster T. Boone Pickens, founder and chairman of BP Capital, has been named the CEO Coach of the Year by the American Football Coaches Foundation.

Pickens was selected as a unanimous winner by the AFCF Board of Directors and will be honored at the foundation's CEO Coach of the Year Dinner on December 12, 2011 in New York. The organization cites "his ability to lead companies to unprecedented success, while becoming a respected and admired leader on national issues related to energy" as the basis for his selection.

He joins Jeffrey R. Immelt, CEO of General Electric, Domino's Pizza CEO David Brandon, MidAmerican Energy Holdings CEO David Sokol and former HP CEO Mark Hurd as the only honorees of the award.
