TULSA COUNTY – Two children are safe after suspected burglars broke into their north Tulsa home Wednesday afternoon.

Chief Deputy Tim Albin said the two boys, 12 and 13 years old, were home alone Wednesday afternoon when the suspects kicked in the front door of the home near 56th Street North and Lewis.

Albin said the boys broke out a back window of the home, jumped a couple of fences, and ran to a neighbor's home.

"Fortunately our SOT [Special Operations Team] team was training today and wasn't too far from this location, so we were able to respond pretty quickly, set up a perimeter," Albin said.

Deputies searched the home, but the suspects had left the scene.

"We'll try to identify them and see if we can't find them," Albin said.

Albin did not give a description of the suspects.

The children were not injured.
