TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Police recovered the vehicle they believe was involved in a fatal hit and run crash on North Peoria late Monday night.

Police say a Chevy Camaro pulled in front of a motorcycle around 9 p.m Monday. The motorcyclist, identified as 53-year-old Donald Eugene Anderson, hit the car and landed on the ground.

Anderson was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the early 2000 to 2005 model Camaro took off.  Tulsa Police believe the car was occupied by two black males.

Captain Dave Roberts said officers received an anonymous tip Tuesday evening that the car was seen in a neighborhood near 54th Street North and Cincinnati Avenue.

Officers searched the area on the ground and in the air and spotted the vehicle in a backyard, Roberts said.

"Now that we've located the car, we'll go from there to try and find out not just the owner, but also who was driving it last night," he said.

Roberts said the car was being impounded, where detectives would comb through the car.
