OKLAHOMA CITY -- A drug bust leads to the discovery of a major counterfeit check cashing ring operating out of a hotel room in the metro.
The Secret Service has been investigating the ring since March. In June, they received information that led them to the Howard Johnson Hotel near the Cowboy Hall of Fame. Agents found counterfeiting equipment in a room.
Court records show the scheme cost local businesses $2.2 million.
Six people have been named in the affidavit.
