KINGFISHER COUNTY, Oklahoma -- A 57-year-old Enid woman is dead after her car struck the back of a John Deere tractor just before 11 p.m. Saturday in Kingfisher County.
Sonae Collingwood was driving a 2003 Dodge SUV southbound on U.S. Highway 81 about a mile south of Dover when she ran into a 1981 John Deere tractor.
The tractor was driven by 33-year-old Jerry Robert Osland of Bison, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Osland was also southbound and was slowing to turn east off the highway when the tractor was hit.
Collingwood was pinned in her car for about 15 minutes until being freed by Kingfisher EMS.
She was taken to Kingfisher Regional Hospital where she died of head and internal injuries. Osland was taken to the Kingfisher hospital where he was treated and released for head injuries.
Troopers say Collingwood was in apparently normal condition before the wreck. The cause is listed as under investigation. Collingwood was wearing a seat belt.
