LINCOLN COUNTY, Oklahoma -- Lincoln County fire officials are investigating what caused a grass fire that threatened dozens of homes Friday.

Fifteen volunteer fire departments worked non-stop to battle the blaze that destroyed three miles and burned continuously since Thursday.

Homeowners on highway 102 north of 162 were forced out of their houses.

"Obviously, now it might be burning up my house. They told us to evacuate and I grabbed everything I could and left," said Robyn Horsechief.

Horsechief was one of many homeowners who was let back into their homes after hours of waiting.

Fire officials said it took hours to get the fire under control because the area was heavily wooded.

No one lost their home in the fire, but it blackened more than 100 acres
