STILLWATER, Oklahoma – Oklahoma State University's Brandon Weeden quarterbacked a new field of play Friday, leading a social media chat to interact with fans.

Weeden, along with OSU receiver Justin Blackmon, spent some time this week talking with fans of their Weeden2Blackmon pages on both Twitter and Facebook.

Friday, Weeden talked about working hard to prepare for the season, how he spends his off the field time during the summer, while also sharing some thoughts about his new offensive coordinator and other Cowboys that will be on the field with him this season.

Fans who talked with both Blackmon and Weeden couldn't help but express their enthusiasm for the upcoming season, but the fans aren't the only ones excited for the 2011 campaign.

"Last year was probably the most fun I've ever had in any sport I've ever played….I think me personally, I'm like a kid in a candy store , everything that keeps happening just keeps getting better and better," said Weeden who also says he was excited about the opportunity to interact with fans via social media. "I feel like we have the best friends in the country."

Speaking of excitement, Weeden had great things to say about some of his fellow teammates and says he is looking forward to getting on the field with the boys this season.

"I'm excited about Hubert (Anyiam), if he can stay healthy, I think he's going to add another asset to our offense…if he can stay healthy, he will be dangerous," said Weeden who also expressed his comfort in playing with receiver Josh Cooper.

"I love throwing the ball to Josh Cooper, said Weeden. "He is one of those guys that every quarterback kind of falls in love with loves throwing the ball to."

The Cowboy quarterback will see two newer faces in the backfield for OSU in Jeremy Smith and Joseph Randle, a tweak that give Oklahoma State some new looks.

"They have different styles, but they make each other better, and they're really going to help our offense," said Weeden. "They do a lot of different things as far as getting out and receiving and pass blocking that doesn't get seen as often by the human eye, but they do a lot to make this offense better."

As far as improvements at the quarterback position, Weeden says personally is working on the fundamentals of his game like his footwork, and defensive reads to improve his game.

"I'm not satisfied, I feel like I still have a long ways to go just because I like to push myself," said Weeden.

This year, the Cowboy offense will be under the leadership of new offensive coordinator Todd Monken.

Weeden describes his relationship with Monken as simply great. The quarterback and coordinator shared a 45 minute phone conversation before Monken was even hired to the coaching staff.

"It was an immediate mesh. I called coach Gundy right after I got off the phone with him and said I really like this guy and I really think he will fit in with everything that's going on really well said Weeden.

"He came in and really liked what we did offensively, didn't really want to change much, but he also felt that some minor tweaks might make us better and might make us click a little better," said Weeden. "We're close and we talk on a daily basis and I'm glad he's here, he's going to make me a better player as well as the other guys on offense...he's a great addition to our team."
