LINCOLN COUNTY, Oklahoma -- Shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday the search for an unidentified 39-year-old fisherman in Prague ended, but police said the search will continue Thursday morning.
Police found an empty boat in Prague Lake around 9 p.m. Wednesday. Police said the man was last seen on Tuesday night when he arrived at the lake to go fishing.
Police blocked the entrance to the park surrounding the lake on Wednesday as the search continued to find the fisherman.
"We had a search crew come out … they searched the shore lines earlier [but] couldn't locate [the missing man]," said Prague Police Capt. John Fluitt.
Members of the Prague Fire Department, Prague Police Department, Chandler dive team, an air team, and OHP teamed up during the search.
Police say they received a report of a missing person Wednesday morning who was apparently fishing throughout the night.
"The family left him [at the lake] at approximately 9:30 p.m. [Tuesday]," said Fluitt. "They returned [in the morning] to pick him up … found a trailer … but could not find the boat or individual."
Hours and hours of searching returned no luck for the rescue teams. Police said OHP used sonar to try to locate the person and boat.
Police say they do not expect foul play. They say they believe it was an accident that caused the man to go missing. The man's family was on hand at the lake all day during the search.
