NORMAN, Oklahoma -- It will be at least another day before everyone in Norman and Noble has power again. Some people may not be back on line until Friday.

High winds and hail damaged roofs, snapped power lines, and toppled trees and trucks in the south metro Wednesday night.

By the time it was over, some people were left homeless and more than 32,000 homes in Norman were in the dark.

Late Thursday OG&E said some people may be without power for a couple more days.

Andre Snodgrass and his family are now going on 24 hours without electricity.  So what's it like without electricity?

"Hot.  I sure love air conditioning, but we do the best we can," Snodgrass said.

A generator powers a couple fans, but it's not a match for the heat.

Lana Stevens, another Norman resident without power said, "I've had three showers.  Does that tell you something?  I've had three showers today."

OG&E is providing free dry ice to customers without power to help keep refrigerated and frozen items cold.  They have also set up two walk-up centers for resident's with questions.

"My handicapped parents live with me," Cynthia Reed said.  "My handicapped brother lives with me.  So we need to get our power back on."

An OG&E spokesperson says they have over 100 structures, like power poles that need to be replaced or repaired.  And because of the sheer magnitude of the work. it will be Thursday or Friday before anyone is back on line.

Snodgrass said they have been told, it will be another day or two before they have power.

"It's going to be pretty miserable."

Residents without power can pick up dry ice at Airgas. OG&E is providing the ice to Norman and Noble residents who provide a proof of address. Customers can pick up the ice today until 6 p.m. and tomorrow from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
