Ft. Towson Motorcyclist Killed Overnight Sunday

Troopers say an odor of alcohol was present at the scene of a Choctaw County motorcycle wreck that killed 45-year-old Christopher Riggs.

CHOCTAW COUNTY, Oklahoma -- A Ft. Towson man lost his life in a motorcycle wreck just before 1 a.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway 70. The fatality wreck took place a mile west of Ft. Towson in Choctaw County.

Christopher Riggs, 45, was driving a 2002 Honda motorcycle westbound on U.S. 70 when his bike left the roadway to the right, struck a guardrail and went into a skid. The bike then hit a tree.

Riggs was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries. There was an odor of alcohol on the driver, according to the report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Riggs was not wearing a helmet. The cause of the accident is under investigation, the report states.
