It was painful watching Congressman Anthony Weiner's confession and apology for sexting several women, but was it enough?
As reporters peppered him with questions about his online activities, the 7 time Congressman from New York City repeatedly pronounced that he takes full responsibility for his actions.
What does that mean?
He doesn't blame anyone else for what he did?
I would hope not.
But apparently taking full responsibility doesn't mean resigning his seat in Congress.
He said he would leave his political future up to voters in his district.
I went back and forth on this one for a bit, but I've landed on the side of resignation.
Weiner has embarrassed a profession that doesn't need anymore humiliation.
He showed terrible judgment in the initial lewd photos he took of himself, then repeatedly lied to cover it up, even going to far as accusing others of hacking his Twitter account.
I certainly understand that we all have our shortcomings, but we should demand better than this from our representatives in Washington.
Time to go Congressman Weiner.
