OKLAHOMA CITY — After a productive first inning that saw both teams get on the scoreboard, the Oklahoma City Redhawks eventually fell to the Memphis Redbirds 2-1 in a 12-inning battle.

In the end, Aaron Luma sent a shot to left field for his fourth home run of the year that gave Memphis the 2-1 victory.

The Redbirds got on the board first when Nick Stavinoha doubled on a line drive to left that scored Pete Kozma.

Oklahoma City responded in the bottom of the frame to tie the game. Koby Clemens knocked a double into left for his 11th of the year to score Anderson Hernandez.

OKC struggled the rest of the game to get the bats going. The Redhawks finished with a mere three hits in the game to Memphis' seven.

A total of ten pitchers took the mound in the marathon game. Redbirds reliever Raul Valdes pitched two hitless innings in the 10th and 11th innings for the winning decision. Victor Marte (7) saved the game with a scoreless 12th inning for Memphis. RedHawks reliever Daniel Meszaros gave up the game-winning home run in the 12th inning for the losing decision.

The loss marks the fourth-straight for the Redhawks, who did not win one game against Memphis this series. OKC is now 24-35 on the season and looks to get back on track on the road against the Omaha Storm Chasers. That series begins Thursday June 9 at 7:05 p.m.
