My 2 Cents: Thanks For The Great Season, Thunder

What am I going to do for the next six months without having another Thunder game to look forward to?

By now you know our Oklahoma City Thunder was knocked out of the playoffs last night by the Dallas Mavericks. Their season is over.

But man, wasn't it great?

I thought about that last night even before the game was over, as about five or six of us were huddled around a monitor here in the studio after the newscast cheering or groaning as the game went down to the wire.

Some were Sooner fans, some were Cowboy fans, but all of us are Thunder fans, and we've never really had that before.

Listen to the throng of fans who showed up at the airport last night to welcome the team home.

I wrote, when the Thunder first got here, that it was going to be hard to get over losing our first love, that team from New Orleans that we dated for awhile... what were they… Hornets?

I guess I'm over them.

And did we ever imagine that a basketball team could bring so much positive attention to our city?

It's been 7 months of fun. Who could forget, "Norman oooh oooh ooooh oooooh."

It's been a great ride, we can't wait until November.
