Two Killed In Crash On Rain-Slickened Road In Murray County

DAVIS, Oklahoma -- The stormy weather may have played a role in a fatal wreck Friday morning near Davis, Oklahoma.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 76-year-old Willis Stewart of Wynnewood lost control of his Dodge pickup truck while driving southbound on U.S. 77. The pickup truck slid across the center line and was struck by a Ford Bus.

Stewart died at the scene. His passenger, 41-year-old Larry Morris of Sulphur, was injured and flown by AirEvac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He's in stable condition with a head injury.

The driver of the second car, 68-year-old Leon Looney of Pauls Valley, was also pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, 40-year-old Angela Jones of Wynnewood, sustained injuries to her head, torso, arms and legs. She's in stable condition at a hospital in Sulphur.

Troopers say it appears Stewart was driving too fast on the wet road, and that's what caused him to lose control of his pickup.
