OKLAHOMA CITY -- Firefighters have put out a three-alarm fire at a motel in far west Oklahoma City.
The fire started just before 10 a.m. at the American Best Value Inn on Mustang Road near Interstate 40. Firefighters attacked the fire from the roof, cutting holes in the top of the motel to help vent the smoke.
Crews extinguished the fire within 45 minutes. No one was hurt.
Dozens of people and families were staying long-term in the motel and are now searching for a place to live. The Red Cross of Central Oklahoma may open a shelter for those affected because power in the building may be switched off until Wednesday.
