OKLAHOMA CITY -- A driver who became stuck on some train tracks in southeast Oklahoma City jumped from his van just moments before a train slammed into it.

Around 2:00 a.m. Friday, the driver experienced brake problems and lost control of his van near S.E. 29th and Shields. The van became stuck on some railroad tracks. The driver heard a train coming and tried to move the vehicle, but couldn't.

Some police officers happened to be nearby and heard the van's tires screeching on the tracks. They tried to radio the train to stop, but were unsuccessful.

The driver jumped out of the van just moments before the train slammed into it. One side of the van was crushed, but no one was hurt.

It took crews about an hour to clean up the wreckage.
