Oklahoma School Enters 'Documen-Tree' To Help Make Campus Beautiful

LEXINGTON, Oklahoma -- Students at a small Oklahoma high school are hoping a video will help them win a national contest to beautify their campus, but they need the public's help.

Kathleen Loux's sophomore biology class at Lexington High School entered the video into Cintas Documen-Tree Contest back in November. The winner of the nationwide competition will win five trees and $5,000 dollars to improve school grounds. Mrs. Loux said her kids found out about the contest just before the deadline. They put the video together while she was out of school because of a broken arm.

"They used a camera phone and put the video together in three days," said Loux. "They did it all themselves."

Lexington High School is now one of 14 finalists. They hope to win the competition and use the trees and money to create a park area for students.

The deadline to vote is March 12. Vote for the LHS Documen-Tree.
