Do our military veterans deserve special treatment when it comes to criminal behavior? There's a bill in the Legislature which would do that.

It prompted Rus to write:
"For PTSD treatment, all they have to do is go commit a crime. What a great opportunity to kill someone you do not like, but you WILL get great treatment as a reward."

Rus that's not what this bill does.

It would give a judge the flexibility to send a veteran convicted of a crime to a Veterans Center for treatment if it's proven Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or brain injury played a part in the crime.

What is wrong with that?

These guys and gals, who've been in combat, are coming from a very different world.

They've had to kill or be killed. They've seen their buddies shot up. You don't think that would jade your world view a bit, cause you a few emotional problems?

A special veterans court to help vets charged with misdemeanors is apparently working very well in Tulsa.

We owe our fighting men and women a little special consideration when they come back home and try to return to society.
