Burglars Break Into Yukon Home With Young Girl Inside

YUKON, Oklahoma -- It didn't take very long for someone to break into a Yukon home Wednesday, but they didn't know a very frightened girl was inside the home and on the phone with police.

A Yukon mother, who wants to remain unnamed, said she has a security system at home, but burglars broke in just after her middle school aged daughter had gotten home.

"I'm scared. I was very, very scared for my daughter and I'm angry," said the Yukon mother.

The mother said she feared for her daughter's life after burglars broke into their home in broad daylight Wednesday afternoon.

"They went around to the back, kicked in our back door and came in the house. Took my laptop and my son's Playstation 3," the mother said.

Her daughter was home alone at the time because she came home sick from school. That's when she said she heard the banging and saw four guys at the door.

"She did the right thing by going to her closet and hiding and calling 911," the mother said. "She's terrified, scared to death."

The mother said she's afraid of leaving her daughter and wants her neighbors to know what's going on so they can protect themselves.

"When their child is in here and somebody breaks into their house, and even if she wasn't here, anything anybody would feel when someone invades their home," the mother said.

Oklahoma City Police are investigating the case. They do not have a description of the suspects at this time.
