OKLAHOMA CITY -- Police said a man arrested after a chase through southeast Oklahoma City late Monday night was also wanted for a shooting in January.
A few minutes before midnight, police tried to stop a car because the license plate came back as stolen. The driver refused to pull over. Officers pursued the car and during the chase, someone in the car fired several shots at them. No one was hurt by the gunfire.
The driver suddenly stopped the car at S.E. 27th Street and Central, where he jumped out and ran. Officers soon caught and arrested him.
Police said the driver is 25-year-old Lauren Nathanial Sprinkler. Sprinkler is suspected of shooting Drew Hill in the 4700 block of S.E. 44th Street on Jan. 20. Police said Hill saw Sprinkler parked outside his home. When Hill walked up to the car, he was shot at point-blank range in the face. Hill survived and is still recovering.
Sprinkler faced charges of shooting with intent to kill and possession of a firearm in connection with the shooting. Police haven't said what charges he may face in connection with the police chase.
