TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is urging the public to get involved in the development of a new rail plan in Oklahoma.

The department is going around the state talking about improving our rail system and met with Tulsans Wednesday afternoon to get their input.

The goal of the Oklahoma Freight and Passenger Rail Plan, or OFPRP, is to create a high-speed network connecting Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Little Rock and Dallas to other networks across the country.

The plan, which will highlight the economic benefits of using railroads, is expected to be finished later this year.
