NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Human remains found in the yard of a Norman home and believed to be that of a missing woman have not yet been positively identified.
Investigators said they believed the remains may have belonged to 48-year-old Angela Biggers, who went missing on December 6, but investigators could not positively identify the remains through dental records. State Medical Examiner's Office spokesperson Cherokee Ballard said samples have been sent for DNA analysis to an independent laboratory, and results are expected in about a month.
Police discovered a shallow grave in the yard on January 27 after hearing a confession from murder suspect and Biggers' boyfriend Ronald Banks.
Banks told an investigator that he and Biggers were arguing in her car on Interstate 240. Banks said he strangled Biggers with a telephone cord then buried her body in the backyard of 1100 Fountain Gate Court in Norman.
Banks reportedly said he buried her there because he knew the house was vacant because he had friends who had lived there.
Banks faces a first-degree murder charges in Biggers' disappearance.
