OKLAHOMA CITY -- Drivers who ventured out Wednesday discovered the roads were still a mess, especially the side streets.
"It is frustrating because I'm supposed to be home," said stranded truck driver Ivan Tijerina. "Unfortunately, I got delayed because of the snow and ice here in Oklahoma."
Tuesday's storm shut down several interstates and roads. The Will Rogers Turnpike remains partially closed. Although most streets are driveable, officials are concerned the ice that turned to slush will freeze overnight and once again make driving hazardous Thursday morning.
People who can stay home Thursday are being urged to do so. All of the major school districts in the metro area will be closed for a third day, so officials said it should be easier for families to avoid the roads.
