OKLAHOMA CITY -- Although most people stayed off the roads during Tuesday's winter storm, some drivers braved the brutal weather and became stranded.
The state activated the Oklahoma National Guard to help rescue drivers in trouble. The National Guard reported Wednesday morning that 82 people contacted emergency personnel for help, while Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers rescued 132 drivers and passengers who were stuck on snowy roads.
The Oklahoma National Guard also reported using these resources:
Drivers stranded in their vehicles should call 911, star 55, or 1-800-800-2481. Tell the operator your location, including highway mile marker along with vehicle make and the number of people in your car. This will assist emergency personnel in finding you.

2 exposures (could be hypothermia, chest pains, shoveling snow, etc.)

4 poisonings (not necessarily carbon monoxide, but may be medication
