OKLAHOMA CITY – Night has fallen on the Kilpatrick Turnpike and Jeremy Smart is still behind the wheel of his snow plow.

"The wind is so strong, we push it off and the wind pushes it right back on," Smart said.

Smart has been out here since before the snow started falling Monday night.

"The wind made it pretty hard to see. There were times I couldn't see past my plow. It got kinda scary for a little bit," he said.

And although Smart and the other drivers have cleared most of the snow off the highways, he isn't recommending driving on them.

The bitter cold temperatures mean there will be little, if any, melting no matter what they do.

"I don't think this salt will even touch it tonight," said Smart.

And the side roads are much, much worse. Even Smart in the snow plow had trouble.

And the cold will make side roads worse too, freezing the snow making pushing through nearly impossible.

"As long as these winds keep up and the temperatures are cold, it's going to be hard to deal with," said Smart.
