NORMAN, Oklahoma – Three Norman college students decided to have a man versus wild night and spend "Snowmageddon" literally camping out.
Joe Henderson, Seth Gilliam and Michael Davis survived a night in a tent during the blizzard.
When asked why the decided to spend a snowy night in a tent the guys responded with "Why not?" but then added they were only 10 feet from their house just in case.
Davis came up the idea and the three friends piled on blankets, coats and footie pajamas to keep warm.
They spent the night in a tent they bought on sale for $16 and sleeping bags which were only rated for 40 degree weather. The cheap tent looked like it was going to blow away while the students skyped with News 9 at about 8 a.m.
"When we woke up and it was snowing inside the tent it was a good indication that we should have stayed inside," said Gilliam.
The students added they planned to head inside shortly.
"Michael is my son. Its nice to know all that money for college tuition is paying off! He spends the night in freezing cold in a $16 tent that basically has no sides to it. Only my son...," said Michael Davis' father Doug.
