OKLAHOMA CITY -- Most, if not all, stores in the metro are out of snow shovels and other winter storm tools.
At Westlake ACE Hardware on N.W. 23rd Street in Oklahoma City, snow shovels were gone by 3 p.m.
"Customers have said they can't find shovels anywhere in the city," said General Manager Brasen Bloskovich. "The good news is we have a truck full of shovels on the way, but it may not be until Tuesday morning when it gets here."
However, the approaching storm may stop the trucks and all traffic in the metro. The next best thing to use are garden shovels, according to Bloskovich.
"Snow can get real heavy when using a snow shovel, so a garden shovel may actually be easier for some people," Bloskovich said.
Samantha Warman of Oklahoma City purchased two garden shovels.
"Yeah, I'm going to let the kids use these. I have no plans on getting out and digging in the snow," laughed Warman.
Grocery store shelves across the Oklahoma City area are picked over already as Oklahomans scramble for supplies to stay at home for the next 24 to 36 hours.
"It's a little bit crazy in there," said Sara Lyon of Oklahoma City.
