OKLAHOMA CITY -- A man suspected of shooting a man to death nearly 12 years ago has turned himself in to the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said 33-year-old Tushawnte Moore shot two people on March 24, 1999, in the 800 block of Highland Drive. When officers arrived at the scene, they found victims 27-year-old Collin Moaning and 27-year-old Joseph Dawson sitting in a car. Dawson ultimately recovered, but Moaning died several months later as a result of his wounds.

Investigators from the Oklahoma City Police Cold Case Unit recently developed information that pointed to Moore as a suspect in the shootings. Detectives obtained a warrant for Moore, and he surrendered to authorities this week. He was booked into jail on a complaint of first-degree murder.

Investigators do not believe any other suspects were involved in the shootings.
