OKLAHOMA CITY -- Demolition crews are set to descend upon the site of a popular restaurant near the University of Oklahoma football stadium.

O'Connell's Irish Pub and Grille closed on Friday and its contents were auctioned off over the weekend.

OU regents will meet Wednesday in Oklahoma City and are scheduled to vote on a proposal to award a $2.4 million contract for demolition, excavation and site development to Flintco LLC of Oklahoma City.

Regents already have approved the construction of the Sooner Center student housing project at the site. Plans call for the $75 million project to be completed by the fall of 2013.
