OKLAHOMA CITY -- A three inch water line break is causing water pressure issues at the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
The line broke between the 1st and 2nd floors of the jail at about 4 p.m. The issue started around 4 p.m.
The line has been fixed, but according to the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office, due to the ongoing problematic construction flaws within the jail the building will experience water pressure problems for the next 24 hours. The building was constructed without proper water shutoff valves, so maintenance workers must go floor by floor to slowly restore pressure.
Currently inmates are being given buckets of water for their restroom needs, and cups of water to drink.
