Man Killed After Being Run Over By John Deere Tractor

A 49-year-old Waynoka man was killed Tuesday after being run over by a John Deere tractor.

WAYNOKA, Oklahoma – A 49-year-old Waynoka man was killed Tuesday after being run over by a John Deere tractor.

According to the Woods County Sheriff's Office, David Knapp and Murl Knapp were unhooking a 15 foot brush mower attached to the tractor when the incident happened.

David Knapp was starting the tractor by jumping the starter solenoid. The tractor was in reverse when it started and ran over Murl Knapp, who was standing behind the tractor.

The 49-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Waynoka Fire and Rescue, Waynoka EMS and the Woods County Sheriff's Officer assisted in the investigation.
