OKLAHOMA CITY – The popular Oklahoma City barbeque joint, Leo's BBQ, was forced to shut its doors over permit issues.

The Oklahoma Tax Commission said it has cancelled the sales tax permit for Leo's. They say it's due to sales tax compliance issues, and because of those issues, Leo's was forced to close both locations.

"I will do what I can to get back open. I am cooperating with them and hoping that they will give me the opportunity to do that," said Charles Smith, Leo's son.

Smith said the worst part about being forced to close down is now his employees don't have jobs just weeks before Christmas.

Leo's BBQ was featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and has been around since 1974.
