Christmas Light Displays And Holiday Celebrations In Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Residents can enjoy dozens of holiday light displays and celebrations across the state this year. If you have a light display or celebration you want to share, leave it in the comments below.

LIGHT DISPLAYS:

Ardmore:
Festival of Lights: The free 1 1/2 mile drive of spectacular lights runs through Dec. 30 and is open pen Sunday through Thursday from 6-10 p.m., Fri and Saturday 6-11 p.m.

Chickasha
Festival of Lights: This free event runs to Dec. 31 -- Bus tours, carriage rides and photos with Santa available for a charge.

Midwest City
Holiday Lights Spectacular: Horse-drawn carriages available for the mile drive-through. Event open through Dec. 30, Monday through Thursday from 6-10 p.m. and Friday/Saturday from 6-11pm.

Norman
Downs Family Christmas Light Ministry: At 2900 72nd Ave SE in Norman, the Downs family has covered their property in over 200,000 lights. The lights are synchronized to five songs. As part of the display, the family is collecting canned food donations for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. the display runs from 6 p.m. to midnight everyday through January 2, weather permitting.

Oklahoma City
Bricktown Lights: Ride free on the water taxis from 6 p.m. to 9:30pm, Thursdays through Sundays until Dec. 26.

Markwell Avenue Christmas Lights: The display goes along the whole 2100 block of N Markwell Avenue. The lights are set to music. Just set your radio to 102.3 FM. See the display from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The show is free but the neighborhood is accepting canned goods/non-perishable food items for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

Piedmont
Neighborhood Lights Display: Ride through this neighborhood in Piedmont at Washington Avenue and Sara Road. Signs will tell you to set your car radio so you can hear music while you drive through the display.

Yukon
Christmas in the Park
: Admission is free, but donations are accepted at the end of the drive-through. The drive-through tour is at City Park. Event runs through Dec. 31 in Yukon City Park from 6-11 p.m.

Christmas Eve hours will begin at 6 p.m. and continue until 6 a.m. the following morning on December 25.  The tours will resume the regular hours of 6 to 11 p.m. nightly thereafter. On New Year's Eve, the parks will open at 6 p.m. and remain open until 6 a.m. on New Year's Day.  The event will close for the season at that time.

Guthrie
Territorial Christmas Celebration: Opening night festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, Journey to Bethlehem at 5 p.m. Territorial Homes Tour on December 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; Victorian Walk Evenings on December 11 & 18; Candlelight Trolley Tours on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays in December; plus various concerts at the Double Stop Fiddle Shop.

Tickets for The Pollard's production of A Territorial Christmas Carol range in price from $15-22 and can be purchased online or by calling (405) 282-2800.

Oklahoma City
Downtown in December: Downtown in December runs through January 2, 2011. The event feature festivities such as outdoor ice skating, water taxis along the Bricktown Canal, snow tubing rides and beautiful lighting and decorative displays.
