Two More Oklahoma Earthquakes Recorded Thanksgiving Day

UNDATED -- Two earthquakes have been recorded in Oklahoma on Thanksgiving Day, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The first, a 2.8 magnitude quake, took place at 10:09 a.m. about three miles east of Arcadia, four miles west of Luther. That is 19 miles northeast of Oklahoma City.

One minute later, geologists recorded a 2.5 magnitude earthquake four miles south-southwest of Luther. That is five miles northeast of Jones and 19 miles east-northeast of Oklahoma City.

These quakes followed two Thanksgiving Eve earthquakes - one at Luther that measured 4.2 magnitude at 4:48 p.m. Wednesday and a second earthquake at 5:45 p.m. in Lincoln County.  The U.S. Geological Survey estimated its magnitude at 3.2.
