OKLAHOMA CITY -- A man nominated to become the new chief medical examiner has declined the offer, according to the medical examiner's office spokesperson Cherokee Ballard.

According to Ballard, Dr. Andrew Sibly, who was serving as the agency's interim chief, turned down the offer.

Sibley had been passed over for the job twice, once for Dr. Collie Trant, who was fired after nine months on the job last year, and the second time when the job was offered to Dr. Phillip Keen in September only to be rescinded earlier this month.
