OHP: Collinsville Passenger Dies One Week After Distracted Driver Crashes

ROGERS COUNTY, Oklahoma -- Melissa Hanslovan of Collinsville died Sunday from injuries she sustained in a one-vehicle crash last weekend.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the driver, 18-year-old Anna Jolly, was distracted by the car radio.

The crash happened Saturday, November 6, 2010 on Rogers County Road 411.

An OHP report says Jolly was driving a Jeep Liberty at a high rate of speed when she got distracted by the radio and veered of the highway, slamming into a tree.

Hanslovan, 18, was pinned for about 20 minutes before being airlifted to a Tulsa Hospital Where she died of her injuries a week later.

Jolly was treated for minor injuries.

The driver was buckled in, Hanslovan was not, the accident report says.
