EDMOND, Oklahoma -- Veterans Day has been especially meaningful for an Edmond family whose son was deployed overseas to serve in Afghanistan.
Twenty-four-year-old Aaron Little has been serving as a Marine for five years and was deployed to Afghanistan at the end of September.
Parents Mark and Cheryl Little said they're very proud of their son but worry for his safety. His battalion lost 28 Marines the first month they were in the country.
"We worry about the what ifs, what if he's next, what if that's the next phone call, what if they show up to our door?" Cheryl Little said.
The Littles said they have been relying on their faith to keep their son safe.
"We pray a lot and we know he's going to be okay. He's a tough man," Mark Little said.
Aaron is expected to return home in April of 2011, and his parents said they are eagerly awaiting his homecoming.
"We're going to give him a big hug and take him to his favorite restaurant, Ted's," Mark Little said.
